This year, the compliments have been pouring in about the unusual design of the season's Program Book. It was so impressive that we even decided to interview one of the graphic designers in September. Well, we were not alone in appreciating the book's originality and striking graphics.
In April 2017, our book received a very prestigious Award of Design Excellence from The Philadelphia Chapter of the American Institute of Graphic Arts (AIGA) whose esteemed panel of judges arrived from all over the country.
This was the 4th biennial PDA design competition, which recognizes the best design created in Philadelphia over the past two years. This competition included logos, websites, posters, experiences, packaging, advertisements, and more from our region's most talented designers.
Congratulations to our talented designer team at GDLOFT: Kevin Kernan, Allan Espiritu, and Chelsea Majuri!!! Their artistic vision, outside-the-box creativity, passion for design details, inventive and inquisitive minds, and sincere excitement for J.S. Bach and his music helped us realize a new bold vision for the Bach@7 Cantata Series and for the branding of its unique project "1734-1735: A Season in the Life of J.S. Bach". We also thank the marketing team at The Pew Center for Arts & Heritage for their leadership and support of this new visual direction.
Additional congratulations go to the GDLOFT founder Allan Espiritu for his recent AIGA Fellow Award 2017, the highest honor an AIGA chapter can bestow upon one of its members.
